A General Election is the election in which federal and state officers, members of Congress and of the general assembly, county and township officers, and other officers appear on the ballot. General Elections are held the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November of each even-numbered year.
The last day an absentee ballot may be mailed to a voter for this election is Monday, October 21, 2024. (Postal delivery is now two to five days each way.)
In-person absentee voting in the office of the Jones County Auditor closes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Requests for absentee ballots must be in writing and should be mailed or delivered to:

Voted absentee ballots returned by mail MUST be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on ELECTION DAY, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 to be considered on time to be counted. Voters are advised to keep in mind that postal delivery is now two to five days.
Extended Hours
Extended and Saturday hours are available for voter registration and absentee voting in the Jones County Auditor’s Office. In addition to regular hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., extended office hours during the 2024 general election season will be as follows:
Monday, October 21 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, November 1 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, November 2 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, November 5 - 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.* or later, depending on election activities
